Comprise vs Consists of

Most students (and sometimes even teachers) may use these two terms interchangeably, but are they really the same?


Comprise = "consists of"


So when you use the word "comprise" or "comprises", it should NEVER come with an 'of'.


The O Level English argumentative essay consists of an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion.

OR

The O Level English argumentative essay comprises an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion.
